Den Meetings

A den is a group of six to eight boys, within the pack, that meets several times a month between pack meetings. The boys in a den are usually all at the same grade level. The den structure allows boys to build relationships with leaders and other boys.

Dens meetings for first through fifth grade boys and girls are typically held on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm Tomball United Methodist Church (Susanna Wesley Day School) located at 1603 Baker Dr, Tomball TX 77375.

Kindergarteners usually meet the first Tuesday of the month at the same location.

Pack Meetings

The monthly pack meeting brings together boys from every den, their leaders, and their families, to participate in a large-scale event that serves as a showcase for everything the boys have learned and done in their individual den meetings. The pack meeting gives the boys a larger experience beyond their own den, and helps them to connect their individual activities to the entire Cub Scouting program. Cub Scouting is a family program. Pack meetings are for families—parents or guardians, brothers, sisters, and other family members—as well as all the Cub Scouts, den leaders, and pack leaders.

Pack meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at Tomball United Methodist Church (Susanna Wesley Day School) at 1603 Baker Dr, Tomball TX 77375.

Pinewood Derby and Potluck Lunch

February 23, 2019

The pinewood derby is one of the most popular and successful family activities in Cub Scouting. Pinewood derby cars are small wooden models that Cub Scouts make with help from their families. Then they race the cars in competition. The cars are powered by gravity and run down a track. Scouts get to design the pinewood derby they received at the December pack meeting, work with a parent to build it, and see it perform on race day. Win or lose, Scouts will take pride in having done their best. Scouts learn craft skills, the rules of fair play, and good sportsmanship—things too remember all their life.
